The flag is coming!
November 8, 2001 Tomorrow morning Our National Flag will cross the Colorado River at Earp. Our part of this journey begins at 11:00 AM, and your state coordinators are psyched! As of tonight, we will no longer respond (via e-mail) to volunteers signing up. If you want to run, please register, download and sign a liability release form, and show up at the start point of the leg that you want to run. Please be at least 30 minutes early. Make sure you stretch and introduce yourself to other runners. If you have the time, consider driving several of your cars to the destination and having one of the other drivers deliver you back to the start point. That way, most of the runners will be at their cars at the destination. You can return the favor at the end of your leg by driving other runners back to their cars. If you are late, go to the start point of the next leg and run that one! Bring your own logistics with you (water, food, towels, etc.). If you are running any of the legs prior to 29 Palms, ensure that your transportation is capable of the return trip. There is almost 90 miles of highway without a service station between Vidal Junction and 29 Palms. We have T-shirts in the RV. They are selling for $15.00 a piece. Exact change would be appreciated! Whichever portion of the run you are involved with, please come to the finish at Dockweilers Beach. Let’s join together to celebrate the completion of American Flight 11 and United Flight 175, on which our beloved crewmembers, passengers, and fellow Americans were killed. Please come and honor them. Your TEAM CA FlagRun Coordinators |
