Connecticut Personal Diary: Lorie Hunter Adams

On day two, October 12th, the “Flag Run” went through Connecticut. The participation and patriotism felt on that Friday left me proud to be an American and the emotion left me absolutely overwhelmed. The energy and excitement that day has remained with me. In the beginning I was very concerned as to whether there would be enough participants to support the run as it left the small closely knit towns of the East Coast and headed out West. Well, my worries were certainly unfounded. This run took on a life of it’s own, and has done so much for the morale of America. The positive impact it has had on the thousand of lives it has touched can never be measured, but will remain with us for the rest of our lives. When the mission is completed on Sunday the 11th I, and I am sure I speak for the rest of those of this great nation, who have followed the “Flag Run”, want to say an enormous say, “thank you, thank you, thank you” to the originators of this event. No words can describe the overwhelming positive impact your idea nurtured. Few people in their lifetime get the opportunity to touch the multitude of lives as you have. What you have accomplished is a wonderful thing. This can only generate many more positive events in your the future. Stay safe and God Bless America.
