On October 11th American
pilot Michael Burr started running with Employees of American
Airlines, United Airlines, Military Service Members, Federal
employees and the general public carrying the United States Flag
across the country. The run honored American Flight 11 and United
Flight 175 leaving Boston on October 11, 2001 and arriving in Los

The Flag was flown over Iraq in the cockpit of a U.S. F-16 in
support of Operation Southern Watch on October 2, 2001. |
The fire department had a "water cannon salute" over
a United plane as the flag run passed
DFW. |

Our dear friends Nora and Greg Downs flew us out
from Boston to Los Angeles to meet up with the flag run. We too
wanted to honor Victors flight. |
And they loaded up the van and ran to Beverly, Hills
that is... Wait!, I mean Los Angeles! Mike, Todd and the crew. |

The families all got a chance to carry the flag for
our mile walk to Dockweiler Beach where a celebration was held.. |
Behind the American Flag, all fifty states were
represented. Brielle carried the Michigan State Flag because
guess who is from there? Derek Jeter! |
