Good Morning All!

This morning I rose at 4am to go meet the Flag Across America! I was the Station #11 coordinator for Arizona. I was to arrive by 5am....as I was pulling onto Mill I saw them, they were early! Chills ran down my spine...........there was a Police car in front with lights on, a group of 20 people with the flag in the middle and a Fire Engine in the back with lights on and several cars behind. What a sight to behold.

I raced to my spot to get ready for their arrival. I brought out the banana's and water I brought..and others runners came to get ready to take over and carry on the flag. As they approached we all cheered. Come to find out an old High School Friend (Dave Humble) was the police supervisor in charge of the Run through Tempe.

Since the run was a bit ahead of schedule all runners had time for a break, I passed out the banana's, power bars and water. We then had photo op's with the fireman and police.

It was time to carry on to the Mill Avenue Bridge, the media was down there waiting for us.....I made a quick call to Mom to watch the news. We ran the mile or so to the bridge.....I ran side by side with the fireman carrying the flag and asked if I could carry it a few hundred yards. I took the flag and ran with pride.....I got chills knowing that many of you are reading this also carried this same flag in other states across the USA. I passed the flag back to the fireman as we approached the bridge so he could carry it over the bridge for the media! For those in Arizona, I did make the news and my mom saw me on TV, All the channels were there, so watch the evening news!

There was a crowd at the bridge cheering as we passed and several news stations! I ran over the bridge and then turned back.........and walked back to my car a mile away. What an experience......just thinking this flag has been across America and is almost to LA. I was so proud to be a part of this AWESOME event in history!

I dedicate this run today to my husband Mark Alan Itter, who is currently servicing in the Middle East with the US Air Force, I LOVE YOU MARK!!!!!!!!!!!!!

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!!!!!!!!!
