After 31 days, I have started to reflect on my experience with the flag run from Boston to Los Angeles.

I never thought I'd...

... stand on the fifty yard line in Texas Stadium and film the flag run through

... get to know a man in Alabama who sells pork skins from his roadside stand

... spend my birthday at the VLA with the flag

... see thousands and thousands of children across our nation cheer the flag

... get to know three pilots (and scores of other organizers) who made an impossible dream possible

... talk to hundreds of runners, not competing, but sharing a common goal

... after 32 years, personally thank a veteran

... share personal stories with victim's families

... look at a slightly weathered flag sit in a temporary resting place on November 11th, reflect on it's last thousands of miles, and feel an emotion I've never felt before

... and most of all have a new found belief in the unity of the people of America.
