The run with the flag was the best thing I have ever done with respect to running! I have run 24 marathons, all kinds of races on trails and beaches and up mountains - but NEVER have I felt the enthusiasm and feeling of pride I felt during that Friday night from East Haven to Milford. I did run the Hartford marathon, and certainly felt the prior night's run, but the thoughts of the run, including the crowd support, the organizers enthusiasm, and the overall objective and reason for the run, kept me going and allowed me to finish the race. In fact, I was in Dallas last week and was disappointed that I missed it by a couple days going through that area. But I did run a race the previous Sunday in Dallas and related my experience with the MC of the race, that told everyone at this 25K race that they should come out and support the run, which they hopefully should do. My two running partners in East Haven, Michelle and Gordon, were terrific, as were the other folks that ran, including Mike and the other AA pilots. I'd love to hook up with them again some time; perhaps a party or dinner with everyone involved would be another way to raise some more money for the victims as well as continue the comradery.
Thanks again for the opportunity to help.
