To everyone who reads this entry:
My wife, Kathy Hope Lansberry, a native of Columbus, Georgia, is in the midst of her 25th year as an American Airlines flight attendant. She has been based at DFW for the past 11 years after spending the first 14 based in New York. In honor of her service and dedication as a true "professional" who enjoys her job, and does it well, and to honor the memory of all those who were lost on September 11, on October 20, I volunteered to run with the Flag here in Georgia. Thanks to the enthusiasm and spirit of Megan Sgan, who coordinated all the details of my leg, I believe that I ran the longest leg with the flag in Georgia. My route was an inspiring 12-mile trek starting at approximately 2:45 A.M. in Crawfordsville, Georgia, heading west toward Union Point. Thanks to a trooper escort, as well as the Flag Run camper (with Megan's father aboard), I carried the Flag proudly before handing it off. I have no doubt that the Spirit, Dedication and Enthusiasm of everyone connected with this incredible event WILL NOT ONLY LIVE ON . . . but will never be forgotten, either. That may indeed prove to be, in everyone's small way, a most touching and poignant tribute to the victims of the horror that was unleashed on September 11.
Sincerely,
Reg Lansberry
