Dear Dee,
I ran in the Albuquerque part of the run. We were scheduled to start our run at 4th & Montano but unbeknownst to the runners, the schedule was changed to 2nd & Montano. My wonderful husband heard from motorists where the flag was and dashed off to hold the caravan for us, then dashed us over to the race and we started running immediately! No time to discuss who's holding the flag, just run!!! It was truly an amazing experience for me. People all along the route were cheering and honking their horns, and yelling, "God Bless America"! I was really moved by how everyone has pulled together in our great country by a great tragedy. It was such an honor to run with our flag and in honor of our victims and their families. I felt humbled to run with Albuquerque's fire fighters around Old Town Plaza and felt truly greatful for their bravery and hard work done daily, and for the police escorts who kept us safe and protected throughout the run and who put their lives on the line for us every day.
One last thought...thanks to all of the pilots who fly our skies daily even in the face of these newest dangers. Thank you for all your hard work in making this event not only a possibilty but a complete success!

GOD BLESS AMERICA!
