please go to the national web page www.flagrun2001.org and download and print acopy of the WAIVER OF LIABILITY form. The state of New Mexico requires that all runners sign the form before they can run on the state highways. Bring this form with you to your designated staging area. We will collect them at that time. This project is officially incorporated and has a one million dollar insurance policy.
- The schedule is now complete and hopefully will not change again. The schedule has not changed till we reach Moriarty. Most of the changes are after Socorro. Several change highlights are given below.
- Saturday November 3, 2001
- 0800 Flag at Moriarty for 30minute hold.
- 1406 Flag enters Albuquerqueat Central and Tramway.
- 1845 Flag at Civic Plaza forceremony.
- 2129 Flag at Isleta Casino.
- Sunday November 4, 2001
- 1254 Flag at Socorro for 2hour hold.
- 1938 Flag at Magdalena for 30minute hold.
- 2347 Flag at VLA for “VLANight Owl Run”.
- Monday November 5, 2001
- 0745 Flag leaves the VLA.
- 1054 Flag in Datil for 30minute hold.
- 1604 Flag in Pie Town for 45minute hold.
- 2107 Flag in Quemado for 30minute hold.
- Tuesday November 6, 2002,
- 0600 Flag reaches Arizona border.
- The “VLA Night Owl Run” will be on the grounds of the VLA and will be an all night effort to keep the flag moving during the night hours. The run will be from approximately midnight Sunday November 4 till 0700 on Monday November 5. Please let Laurie (LCumm80@aol.com) know ifyou want to be a “Night Owl Runner”. It will be full moon and a once in a life time experience that you will be able to tell your grand children about.
- There is now a national tee shirt available for purchase. The cost is $15 plus shipping. You can order it on-line at www.flagrun2001.org.
- To complete our border to border convoy we need 113drivers. At this point we have 45 volunteers. Please contact your friends and associates and help us get more drivers. Details are given on the NM page of the www.flagrun2001.org web site.
- We are receiving outstanding support with communicationsfrom our radio ham friends. The two groups are American Radio Relay League at ARRL.net and the New Mexico Searchand Rescue Support Team at
www.nmsarsupport.org. They will provide a radio equipped van in the convoy from Texas toArizona. The van in the convoy willhave a Global Position Satellite link that will display on a web site theprecise location of the flag. The URLfor the flag position will be
