A Request for Patience, October 29, 2001 Tonight is October 29, two days beore we accept the flag from Texas. In the past few days the number of people volunteering to participate in New Mexico has dramatically increased. This has created a back log of names and requests that need to be processed. We all are volunteers and still have day jobs. Please accept my apologies if we have missed you in our attempts to reply to everyone. If you have not heard from us, please do contact us. We will get back with you and answer all your questions. As far as runners are concerned. Everyone is welcome to run at the place most convenient for you. If this means that you simply meet us some where on the road and run with us, or that Laurie assigns you a "scheduled slot" to run, either is OK. What we do need to know is if you accept a scheduled slot and then are unable to run (and this is understandable). This will allow us to keep enough runners in each scheduled group to complete the assigned stretch of road. We do have some regions that are rather remote and need close coordination. The VLA Night Owl Run (Sundy midnight Nov 4) will be an exciting event and I invite you to join us as we carry the flag through the night in the environment of the people and equipment that on a regular basis run through the furthest regions of the iniverse. Thanks to every one who is helping with this wonderful project.
