Last night I ran a leg of the Flag Run here in Oklahoma City. I wasn't sure what to expect when I got to the "post" I was to meet the runners. But after meeting a few of the people there to run with me, I was so proud to be a part of "Flag Across America". I met a couple from Racine Wisconsin, who drove in to run in this Memorial Flag Run. He is a fireman in Racine and they wanted to participate so they drove all night to get to OKC so they could run with us. I was amazed. Also, there was a man from Boston just happened to be here and wanted to run. We all talked and got aquainted while we waited on the Flag to get to our "post". It was getting dark when we heard the police sirens and the chants rising from the crowd and when I saw the police lights and the runners holding our flag. I have to tell you I have never felt that feeling in my life. Our group joined in and when I took my turn holding the flag I felt like I could conqour anything. I felt honor, grace, dignity, sorrow, unity and proud all at one time. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to feel like I did last night. I will never forget this memory and the unity we American's have reached.
Sincerely,
