Seeks to Honor Those Lost in September Attacks, Support Troops Overseas and Raise $1 Million for Families of Persons Killed
- October 30, 2001: Oklahoma City, OK - Flag relay determined to reach Los Angeles tours through Oklahoma City, Cordell, OK. University of Oklahoma President Boren, Representative Watts participate in country-wide effort to encourage nation. Flag runners pause at Oklahoma City National Memorial; hear prayers, lessons of healing and recovery from terrorism.
- November 5, 2001: Albuquerque, NM - Flag relay determined to reach Los Angeles on Veterans Day leaves tours through cheering crowds; US Rep. Heather Wilson runs with flag, hails patriotism of New Mexico participation in country-wide effort to encourage nation. Flag continues west, heads toward Arizona. Organizers announce that families of the air victims will run “last mile,” followed by all State flags; run will finish as “one nation, under God, indivisible.”
- November 6, 2001: Albuquerque, NM - Flag Continues West Toward Los Angeles Through Cheering Crowds in New Mexico; Flag Runner, Rep. Heather Wilson (R-N.M.), Hails Patriotism of New Mexico Participation
- November 8, 2001: Los Angeles, CA - Nation-wide flag relay to reach Los Angeles on Veterans Day. Organizers announce that families of the air victims will run “last mile” followed by all State flags; with 50 state flags in trail, run will finish as “one nation, under God, indivisible.” Organization calls on California leaders to receive flag after 3, 872 mile foot-journey. California Lt. Governor Cruz Bustamante to preside at ceremony.

Flag run completes 3, 872 mile journey. Families of crews and passengers killed on 9-11-01 "complete the trip" for their loved ones. Organization announces future fundraising, documentary plans.
